Document Capture and Scanning is a challenge in any organization. With an array of scanning devices, capture needs and backend content management systems, it is ineffective to settle for multiple applications to accomplish one goal. PSI:Capture provides a single capture platform that can meet all the needs of an organization: document scanning and import, forms processing, data capture, OCR/ICR, data extraction and the ability to migrate the information into a backend. PSI:Capture advanced capture system enhances the capabilities of any scanning device, providing a powerful onramp to any Enterprise Content Management (ECM) or Document Management Systems (DMS).
The Capture module is PSI:Capture's primary module. This is the module that allows capture from Scanners, MFPs, and watched folders (among others.)
The capture module allows anyone to scan, arrange, and store any type of document with speed and ease. By connecting scanning devices to scan stations and a logical file system, captured images are converted and neatly systemized directly into the user-friendly interface.
Document separator sheets can be designed to tell PSI:Capture when to split the document, decreasing the time and energy required to scan large volumes. Not only is the batch automatically organized, but high accuracy is also achieved. In addition, image enhancement, auto crop, boarder elimination, and black hole punch removal are just a few of the image cleanup features that can be automatically performed. Digital files can just as easily be imported and saved into file folders, and PSI:Capture will automatically assign an index field based on the folder name.
The QA module is PSI:Capture's QA and verification module. This allows operators to visually verify and, if necessary, input specific data.
Once documents are scanned, the quality assurance module allows the user to review the pages to verify image quality. Unsatisfactory pages can be replaced, missing pages inserted, and pages requiring rotating or cropping can be changed to suit the user’s needs.
Image processing allows pages to be manipulated to improve poor quality images.Attaching a note or utilizing identifying flags can assist multiple users in batch management by leaving a specific note, or tagging items for review, rejection, deletion, or processing. Document arrangement can easily be controlled by dragging and dropping pages, documents, or entire folders to a preferred order. Indexed data can also be reviewed in “data view”, which consists of a neat spreadsheet containing fields of information for each document.
The Index module automatically processes data such as typewritten text, barcodes, checked boxes, tables and more.
The Migration module allows data collected by PSI:Capture to be moved to ECM/DMS systems such as Microsoft SharePoint.
The Reporting module provides important ROI and performance indicator metrics.
The Batch Manager Module allows the tracking and overview of batch-based processing, providing a high-level view of processed projects.
The Security module allows certain workflow staps and processes to be divided amongst trusted user groups when multiple scan stations are used.
The barcode Generator module allows quick creation of batch (and other) barcode separation sheets to be inserted to speed the automation of batches at scan time.
The OCR/OMR Module "reads" typewritten information and marks on a page (such as checkboxes) so the data can become searchable and indexable in an ECM/DMS system.
The ICR Module converts handwritten text from items such as handwritten forms and surveys and converts the handwriting to text.
The ADE Workflow Module reads data strings and then allows you to perform pattern matches.
The Classification Workflow Module allows for the identification of forms and intelligent document separation based on form types, and validation based on page counts.
